Crossing borders in participatory video research transnationally remotely and with the use of digital tools.
‘Reinventadas’ is a collaboratively produced film visualising the everyday challenges of 12 women in Medellin, Colombia, during the COVID-19 pandemic 2020/2021. The film is based on participatory video methodology adapted by using a remote and digital approach. Using smartphones women participants filmed, edited and discussed the filmed material online, facilitated by a team of researchers and filmmakers in the UK and Colombia. The topics discussed in the film provide information about the issues that women struggle with during the pandemic, but also highlight how they were able to reinvent themselves.
