Pick-up

This short film, in blending text and moving image and sound, is an effort to capture the thingness and feel of pick-up basketball – at least how it was done on a popular court in Leeds, UK. Here questions and contradictions are presented around space, bodies and sociability. Ultimately, it is an invitation to a curious and convivial research approach, and an effort to present academic thinking through film.
