Zhuhai

This film records a train journey from Zhuhai, China northwards in 2018. A section of film is spliced four times with a non-repeating audio soundtrack as well as different visual effects applied to each section. Through the journey, the music, lighting, and repeated viewing shift, changing how the audience views each section of the same journey. The piece seeks to dislodge the viewer from a straightforward narrative or consumptive act. The film invites viewers to consider how their own perspectives and meanings are (re)created from an object that is meant to impart ambiguous information.
