Registration FAQ

I must to provide an existing e-mail address during registration?

Yes. During the regiatration procedure you must provide an existing e-mail address. At the end of the registration process you will be sent an email, within which there will be a link to complete the activation of the account. Without having confirmed the correctness of the e-mail adress, your account will be not activeted.

I don’t want my e-mail address to be public. Is my e-mail publicly visible on some page?

No. Your e-mail will never be shown on any page on the Film Geographies website. Your e-mail will not even be accessible to other members already registered on the website. We request an existing e-mail account during the registration process to prevent automatic spam system from posting unwelcome comments on the site.

Membership FAQ

Can i delete my Film Geographies user profile?

Under Article 17 of the GDPR individuals have the right to have personal data erased. This is also known as the ‘right to be forgotten’.
To delete your account, follow the instructions below:

Select the COMMUNITY > MY PROFILE link on the navigation menu.
You will be directed to your profile page

On your profile page select “My Account”

Select the bin/trash icon (Delete Account caption)

Now just insert your password and click on “Delete Account” button

Can i hide my profile from Film Geographies MEMBER page?

By default, after registration, your personal profile will be public. This means that your personal profile will be visible to both registered members and guests at the page https://www.filmgeographies.com/members/

However, you can make your profile invisible by following the procedure below:

Where can I find all the comments I’ve written?

Can i cancel my comments?

Under Article 17 of the GDPR individuals have the right to have personal data erased. This is also known as the ‘right to be forgotten’.
FilmGeographies users can delete own comments using the “My Content and Settings” button located on top left side of the main comment form. This button opens pop-up window with a list of current user all comments and delete buttons.
